HOWEVER: It wouldn't be D&D. No sirs. I am wanting to run a Lord of the Rings themed campaign in Rolemaster Classic. It is a very gritty realistic system (ie: Criticals CAN kill in one hit. Lvl 0 NPC redshirt can kill the level 50 mage in one hit, but it's rare). I am posting this on here because..... FG just released the RMC ruleset for FGII which would cut down on the learning curve.
If anyone is interested, let me know and I will send you the PDFs you need to make a char and learn the rules as well as some fluff (Middle Earth RP books).

I would be interested in theory, but I can't really imagine we can find another time that works for me since I'm in such a drastically different timezone.

Ut oh, I have a deep love for the Rolemaster System. I have almost all of the MERP/Rolemaster books on PDF. We used to play that system exclusively for its content. Its just massive and who doesn't like stiomping around Middle Earth? I once had a Hobbit with a 215 at Stalk/Hide do to ability and magical items he carried. He did get captured though. Two critical fumbles in a row! Not only did he stab himelf in the thigh with his dagger, he tripped and knocked himself out right after. With Rolemaster its not really about high stats, its about tactics because any 1st level orc can get a good shot in and mess you up badly. So many times did we go in willy nilly and come out a mess.

Sorry , you mean you have enough spare time now to DM a game when you say you could run a campaign ? And are you looking at once every two weeks ? Darkalloy was already working on a bi-weekly game for when Madelaine is forced to leave us  when her medical leave is over and she's able to return to work - which unfortunately given the time zone difference over in germany for her will mean she won't be able to game with us anymore (she will be missed ! ) ... however darkalloy sez FG is being evil on his end and would force him to run a play-by-post game.... |

Yeah it keeps erasing the encounters I put in it so if I was to run it, it would have to be done from my steno book and my regular books as well. Anyway on the note my campaign I should have a major land map drawn up by the end of next week. So that a plus not to mention we still do have two open slots for it...

Man that sucks FG is indeed mistreating you ! Sorry to hear that , it must be a major pain ! ... I'm sure you've already tried all of this  but... I'm guessing you checked for viruses on the PC (what antivirus software are you using if you don't mind me asking? ) and/or you tried wiping everything off the PC and doing a fresh install of windows ? Sometimes evil crap sneaks in that even the antivirus stuff can't seem to detect but I'm sure you already know this so not trying to offend you here either ... |

Yeah I've got Norton 360 running, along with Ad-aware and another one If forgot the name of.... Not to mention I think 6 firewalls running at any given time.... What? I know I'm paranoid but you would be too had you seen some the the weird stuff my computer does when not connected to the internet. Anyway I'm gonna be doing a fresh reload here in a few weeks got a new SSD I want to use as my OS drive.

Let me know if FG behaves itself after your reload Nydhog I apologize in advance as this is going to come across as rather offensive but... you DO seem like a busy guy .... you're gaming with us once every two weeks and you have been active on the forum RP'ing with Za'era in the private thread I set up for you guys which is great ... but prior to that we didn't really see Eolaer interacting with the other PC's on the dragonlance forum RP threads... even now there have been several group conversations between the PC's eolaer has not been a part of. I'm not chewing you out, you do a great job of RP'ing Eolaer when you're there.. but to be brutally honest between you only being able to game with us once every two weeks and you not being able to post on the forum that often (compared to the other players who all routinely post on the forums quite often in the forum RP and other parts) I'm not 100 percent certain , now that I think about it, that you would be the best candidate for the other bi-weekly game on Tuesdays .. or to put it another way if you don't have enough time to be here every Tues (as opposed to every other Tues) or to keep up with the forum RP on the boards how would you be able to run a campaign ? If you're planning on running your campaign on a day other than Tuesday obviously I don't need to make this speech in the first place  ..... Again this is not a "chew nydhog out" thread it was VERY nice of him to offer it's just that.. and I apologize immensely for saying this nydhog but.. I'd rather not put my faith in nydhog biting off more than he can chew and then having his bi-weekly game fizzle out shortly thereafterwards... Madelaine's shoes are going to be very hard to fill when she has to leave us ! Having said that my preference would be to have darkalloy run our other bi-weekly game when that time comes... |

If FG stops eating all my encounters.... Well most of them the Tarrasque is still there. Maybe thats whats eating them?

Well I was actually thinking of doing the game once a month. Gives me plenty of time to make a run, load it in, and run it. And I am actually free on tuesdays now almost entirely (thank god). I don't wanna jump into the drow game mid-run though.
I don't take a offense at all bud. Truth =/= chewing out lol. I should be getting more active on forums very shortly. And I could do it on a different day even if that would make things easier.
@cas sweet god. 215 stalk?

Yeah my solution to the players become too powerful and using that power to basically disrupt the world is actually more evil than the tarrasque. Ever hear of Linnorms(I think thats the name.)?
