Serinda considers and shrugs.
"I doubt they've mastered the arts of magic as well as they tower, if you want, we can go shopping first."

"Think some one here could make an engagement ring or two? I mena I do have that box of diamonds.... and all those thing I saved..."
Rin puts an odd inflection od the word saved.

" No business ? NO BUSINESS ? ! ? I EARNED these White Robes ! How DARE you lecture me on morality you wet-behind-the-ears NOVICE ! YOU - " " You mentioned you were getting behind on your research? " Justarius interjects gently looking at Tadhg. With a final glare at Serinda , Tadhg fumes , speaks a word of magic , gestures and vanishes. " An engagement ring? " Justarius gives Rin a slightly amused look. " Even in the midst of war you've found romance .. a wonderful thing to be sure but ... even if you did have the steel available for the band for said ring - assuming that you don't want something more pleasing to the eye such as gold or silver , though I'll admit metal is the most precious of the three metals - if you're en route to Thorbardin - assuming you can find the place to begin with - I'd recommend you let the dwarves do it for you .... their craftmanship is truly impressive - we tend to use hill dwarf forged items ourselves when necessary, truly exquisite.. I suspect your lady friend would be far more pleased with the result ... Shopping.. SHOPPING ? ! ? " Justarius gives Serinda a disbelieving look. " You made quite a point of impressing upon us the dire need to fight the dragonarmies here and now without observing the Tower's normal protocol young lady, and now you want to go shopping? I wouldn't recommend it - given your insults to the Council I think it's highly unlikely you'll find anyone willing to sell you anything here .. they'd be worried about the political ramifications alone if they did business with you. As for Rin here - he's not yet a member of the Tower." ( DM note - this thread takes place AFTER Serinda gets her scrying focus - the mirror - from Ancreta as an FYI so Serinda already has it ) .. " As a matter of fact I'd strongly recommend you remove yourself from the premises IMMEDIATELY for your own safety if nothing else ... I would LIKE to believe Ladonna won't go behind Par-Salian's back to wreak vengeance upon the two of you .. but ... " Justarius shrugs then continues " Need me to send you back to your friends, or ... " he asks looking at Serinda

Rin reaches into his pack and pulls a diamond out of the box.
"Personally I though if I put this thing on it she wouldn't care what the band looked like. I was also hoping to get it made out of something like Dragonsteel possibly even Platinum."
Rin shrugs as he puts the diamond back in the box.
"Oh well back to finding Thorbardin I suppose, if it still even exists."

Serinda shrugs.
"If she decides to come after me, you don't think it will matter whether it's here or somewhere else do you? I'm sure she's quite capable of tracking me down wherever. And yes i'm willing to go shopping if it will further our goals."
She glances around and then at Justarius.
"You still allow everyone to teleport in and out of the tower? I suggest you change that policy... Force everyone to teleport into the courtyard or at the base of the tower. There will come a time when the draconians will attack the tower. They need only a few black robes to teleport in, bringing many draconians with them, Like i brought Rin. They might even bring in some of their priests. And you'd be facing magic the world hasn't seen in 350 years, and you'd be facing it from within. Isn't it better to be safe then sorry? Forcing people to teleport to the base of the tower is a mere inconvenience and ensures the safety of the tower."

" I'm sure we can look after ourselves" huffs Justarius , seemingly offended by Serinda's observations " But if you insist.. " Justarius shrugs and walks away. Serinda knows the Tower somewhat well, enough to make her way back and forth it's passages.. there are far fewer wizards here than there were before , all deeply engrossed in reading tomes of magic or performing experiments of one kind or another... whenever Serinda approaches one however the results tend to be the same.. the wizard, whether white or red robed, looks EXTREMELY nervous when Serinda offers to purchase items, shakes their head with a feeble smile on their face, then returns to their research.. apparently news of Serinda and Rin's confrontation with the Council has spread quickly. Even Rin's silver tongue doesn't seem to make an impression .... despite the fact they don't come out and say this out loud the undercurrent is clear - to a man (or woman) all the wizards all seem convinced that aiding Serinda in one way or another - or an "unlicensed" mage such as Rin - would result in what they seem to think would be extremely negative consequences for them. ( If you like you can RP attempts to convince the wizards otherwise but the odds are stacked against you - mind you the above doesn't cover any attempts to speak with Ancreta ... Serinda see the Sangrias and Serinda board in your private forum for a memory refresher on Ancreta if need be, will PM you the password to get into that sub-board )

Serinda takes Rin through the tower for a while, but soon their attitude becomes clear, and she stops near a window looking out over the area.
"I think it's time to leave.... And I don't think I'll be coming back... In fact... I mean not to.."

Rin rubs the back of his neck and nods to Serinda.
"I'll have to sadly. Unless I'm dead.... which would really screw up my plans more than the test."

( for RP purposes assume Serinda has access to one more teleport spell ) Serinda merely concentrates without even the need for a word or a gesture .. the world fades around them.... Rin and Serinda find themselves in the middle of a black featureless plain that seems to stretch on forever no matter how far they walk... they wait.. and wait... four hours later they're STILL waiting... it's not difficult to put two and two together.. Rin's chaos magic is starting to affect OTHER people's spells now ... ( DM note - the times when this happens will be very rare and always in forum RP never in an FG game session - affecting other people's magic that is - and then usually for humor's sake alone ) Excruciatingly dull and boring music fills the darkness... there's just enough light for Rin and Serinda to see each other, little more than that... bowls of peanuts float by along with irritatingly small flasks of water to serve as nourishment. It's easy enough to lie down on the ground, which feels soft, and sleep for the night as the hours drag on and on.... ( also assume you regain any spells cast thus far Serinda ) It's hard to tell time but finally after you wake up you reappear in front of Zane, Forman, Udyr and Draug .. the sun is rising in the sky.. evidently it's morning.. ( and now this thread officially flows over to :
whatifdragonlancedm.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=forumroleplay&action=display&thread=860
(assume the night passed in between your time at the Tower of High Sorcery and Serinda teleporting you back to the others - the "time lag" during the teleport resulted in you showing up at the same time the others are waking up for the morning
GREAT RP'ing both of you awesome job, loved the speeches you guys gave to Par-Salian, Ladonna and Justarius - Rin was his usual comedic self with the whole common sense thing going on beneath, Serinda was morally righteous as only a Silvanesti elf can be, great stuff ! Each of you gets 50 XP and 75 RP )
