((This happens around AC 346 Summer Run))
Sumlanna needed a rest after her most recent job. A week on the road with no stops in between, and no time to immerse herself. She needed water a lot lot of it and she didn't want to spend a fortune on the bath at an inn. Despite what the inn keeper had said she knew there had to be a body water around somewhere with in a few hours walk from town. She spent hours searching before happening upon a beautiful grove with a small pond. She had found the water the inn keeper said did not exist. Stripping down the her undergarments Sumlanna put her things on a nearby rock, and made a small fire she was sleeping here tonight. Satisfied that the fire was going to stay strong she jumped into the pond not only to catch her dinner, but to rest herself.
To the unaware it would appear that the person this camp site belongs to is currently away. Leaving a fire unattended.

Serinda takes her book along to the grove, her favorite place to read, it's usually so peaceful and quiet. But instead she finds clothes discarded and a fire burning. Which is strange, humans rarely come here, while raiders or other scum don't tend to have such clothes. Finally she simply decides to climb onto a nearby rock and wait. Mildly curious to see who else decided to use 'her' grove.

Sumlanna had been under the water long enough to catch her dinner and become well rested. Swimming for the surface she noticed someone on the rock where she had made camp. She couldn't tell who or what it was as the water distorted her image. Her hand began to glow as she formed a small blade readying herself for a potential fight. She popped her head out of the water and saw a female elf sitting on a rock, still unsure about this woman she slowly stepped out of the pond holding the behind her back. Shaking the hair our of her eye she stares at the woman before her.
"Who are you and what are you doing here?" Sumlanna speaks her caution blending into her voice.

Serinda frowns as she turns to look at the other woman. Glancing at the blade, strange as it is.
"My name is Serinda, and I've been coming here since I was very young."
She looks very pointedly at the blade.
"Are you worried i'm going to hit you with my book?'

Sumlanna releases the blade which quickly dissipates into nothingness as she steps fully onto the ground.
"Only a precaution, you never know who or what is nearby. As far as I knew you could have been a mage or hiding a dagger in the book or something else. Still could be. Sumlanna...."
Sumlanna sits next to her small fire pushing her fish onto a stick that over hangs the fire slightly.
"Still you said you have been coming here since you were a child... Serinda was it? Does the mean this is your grove?"

( here's some pic's of what Sumlanna looks like btw
Darkalloy sez :
"She has blue skin, blue hair, indigo eyes, slight webbing between her toes and fingers, her ears are ...slightly pointed with a little frill".. she looks like she might be in her early to mid 20's " human wise" if she was a human..
She's also VERY beautiful, "20" Appearance score, right up there with Serinda (one of the 7 most beautiful women walking the face of Krynn type looks) ..
You don't see very many people with blue skin, blue hair, indigo eyes and slight webbing between her toes and fingers .. matter of fact unless Serinda had some reason otherwise (some part of her background I don't know about yet) this would be the first time she's seen anyone who looks anything like this )

Serinda frowns slightly, studing the book in her hands.
"I will be a mage! Someday..."
She looks around the grove and shrugs.
"It's not mine in the sense that.. I own it... Just that I come here a lot, and nobody else ever seems to visit here except on rare occasions."

"Studying to be a mage then? Whatever for, Unless you're planning on going around saving or killing people."
Sumlanna leans back and stares at the pond.
"I personally can't see a need for that much power. It's more than one needs to survive on the road or as a mercenary. So you must have some kind of plan."

Serinda considers for a moment and shrugs.
"Just because a forge can be used to make a sword, doesn't mean all blacksmiths are hungry for blood. It's an art that can be used to do good or evil, or simply because it is an art in which someone is interested. Just like magic."

"That's true, however at the same time that art is one of the most destructive of all. Even learning it aren't you putting yourself at risk of using it wrong purposefully?"
Lifting up her hand she stares at it as he blade once more forms out of nothingness.
"I guess I have no room to talk though considering what I can do."

Serinda merely shrugs and smiles slightly.
"Everything is capable of doing harm in the wrong hands, magic above all perhaps, but I'm not mere simple minded human. I can handle it."

"Not all humans are like you say.... I'll admit a lot of them are though. Still just saying you can handle it and handling it are very far apart."
Picking up the stick the fish was on, She pokes at the fish.
"Almost done. How did you come to the decision to become a mage? I wouldn't think that would be something you decided on the spur of the moment."

Serinda thinks on that for a while.
"I guess... It just called to me, and it's challenging, A mental challenge, not a physical one. Which is what I like.. And while that may be true, then there's really no way of knowing if you can handle something until you try."

"A mental challenge.... You should try where I learned my art. That's a mental challenge. I can understand though."
Looking up at the sky she chuckles.
"You probably won't believe me but I make weapons out of thought. Others could make fire or lift objects and even create creatures. I didn't like it there, I actually liked it less than where I grew up."

Serinda considers that with a frown.
"Why weapons? Why not something... Nice?.."
