This is directed mainly at dark alloy though if anyone else knows the answer please feel free to jump in Apparently there's a "grappling fighter" prestige class that lets you throw large objects around and gives other special bonuses to people who use grapple as an attack.. anyone know what wizards of the coast D and D book it's in ? (even if it's not in a WOTC book I'm sure I'd allow it, I just need a write up for it ! lol ) ... I looked for it using google with no luck ...

Reaping Mauler Pg75 Complete Warrior
I'm not sure this class would benefit Azcot all that much as it is very limiting and more designed for perhaps a Dwarf Rogue?
Not really sure its even as nice as the Monk class.
Azcot has more of a slower, heavily armored Pit Fighter fighting style. Not great at powerful groups (caster fodder) but excellent against one or two strong opponents, or a single boss creature. He is hard to hit, (but not hard to melee or ranged touch attack), He has some hit points and reach due to his size with his bare hands. He is formiddable against heavily armored or lightly armored opponents like Fighters, Rogues and Monks. using his size and great strength to full effect, opting to grapple his weapon wielding opponents, nullifying their use of their heavy reliance on weapons. The only creatures to have advantage over him are heavy casters/bards and (where as if he survives an initial assault then their toast) Huge or larger creatures.
His secondary fighting style is his Greatsword where he can deal with larger groups of moderately powered enemies more effectively.
In a group such as this he should usually be the main target to a group of enemies that are not familiar with the group. Again this is a HUGE advantage...that is, if the Bard would do what he is supposed to be doing instead of showing off!

Hey Singing, Showing off and, Shock and Awe are what I am supposed to do!!!!
Still the reaping mauler is a nice class if you do it right. It can be used to either kill a group or just break the next dragons neck. I must admit though it's hard to get it right.

Yes it is, and Azcot would have to ditch his armor and raise his wisdom to be as effective with it then doing something else. Yes, Singing, Shock and awe etc. are what a Bard's supposed to do but not as a main target, in the background. You might be good at using that whip but your going to get hurt alot in the process...me thinks you have gotten hurt alot? You also take up front line fighting space which could be left to one of the fighters in the group. No worries, you'll get the hint as times goes on!

Rin's been downed completely 2 times and dman near a third time one of them was from a scorching ray for out departed wizardess Reika, another was the rocks, and the alomst was from a fireball by the aforemontioned wizardess. Combat rarely gives Rin trouble I generally try to keep 15 feet away. Only when Andre throws sorruond about us do I fall behind I'm still a bit hard to hit though. So I think Rin is doing exactly what he should. That and the party is a bit to 'destruction' prone to like facinate out enemies then suggest them.

See with all the smooth talkers in the group, I'm not sure why Rin ISN'T doing more of his art. We have a good show of force now, maybe that will happen for us in the near future as Azcot is not one to attack another unless absolutely necessary and won't be to kindly to those that do.

Well so far Azcot has gotten Sangrias to relent and now RIn knows as well what Azcot expects of him. Eolaer...is going to be tough work but I just want to make one statement about alignments, if we are using them.
Lawful good means that you can't kill someone just because they have an evil alignment. You must witness them commiting a crime punishable by death or about to cause harm to you soemone else. EVEN if a god asks you to, it doesn't make it right in the world of law.
Neutral Good is generally good but you might break a law or two to do good. "Steal an apple and give it to a starving boy etc."
Chaotic Good is thwarting evil no matter what. GOing after it aggressively, killing if necessary. It sounds like this group is chaotic good?

Well Rin is chaotic good so.....

Yep I'd say per those definitions you've defined above chaotic good fits the party alignment the best.. though the alignment "restrictions" we've established in the group over the months of game play are different than what you outlined above .... Basically here's my moral requirements for any good aligned PC (and far as I'm concerned these restrictions are fine for neutral good PC's too ) : - in combat once someone's attacking to kill you ... long as it isn't some mind-controlled person for example whom you KNOW is being forced to do it against his will, or a simple peasant farmer deceived into thinking you're a bad guy you know you could beat with one hand tied behind your back, stuff like that .... you can respond with lethal force to protect your life ... even groin shots, eye shots, maiming and killing... once someone's trying to kill you unless there are extenuating circumstances you can deal with your opponent however you see fit.... - on the other hand if your opponent surrenders.. or if your opponent is clearly helpless and out of the fight (you incapacitate your opponent so badly he can no longer fight but he's still alive ) .... Good aligned characters are expected to let the opponent live. Often such surviving opponents are questioned... good aligned PC's are expected to let the prisoner live, no matter HOW evil and repugnant they are, without maiming or torturing said prisoner (though tricking the prisoner into thinking you're going to do something horrible to said prisoner is fine ) ... Good aligned PC's are also expected not to slaughter a prisoner after questioning it, which usually means letting the prisoner go... as a DM's note I NEVER punish PC's for letting a prisoner live... the prisoner will do one of two things... either 1) quietly fade into the background without giving the PC's any further problems never to be seen again, the prisoner won't go "squeal" on the PC's to the bad guys for example , or 2) the prisoner will make a surprise appearance later on repaying the PC's for their kindness by doing some sort of favor for the PC's .... Rin actually has two "followers" he's training how to use a whip, Grusk and Trusk the hobgoblin brothers, he and the others defeated in combat a while back (one hit die creatures who gained a level in Fighter .. they advance one level when the PC's do.. so not TREMENDOUSLY powerful mind you but they serve well as messengers, guarding friendly NPC's, they can even keep a single foe busy in combat by ganging up on said foe ) .. But yeah, I love how Azcot is being very moral and honorable but technically the official DM ruling here is that Rin is not in violation of any alignment restrictions ... the carnage visited on NPC foes will be awful to view no doubt about that (Rin cut off and retrieved an opponent's privates ! ) .... but in a "war time" setting I'm willing to let that sort of thing go ... don't let that change Azcot's point of view if you don't want it to however ! I like the idea of Azcot getting all pissed off whenever a teammate does something less than honorable in Azcot's eyes ... I do understand what casdegere is saying, however debates on alignment are something that can take FOREVER to resolve between players before a consensus is reached ... this is the alignment "code" we've developed over past game play so I'm going to take the easy way out .. rather than trying to get us all used to a new "code of behavior" so to speak (which I think will also make the game less fun for the other players given we've already established certain guidelines ) I'd rather stick with the one we've already established (though it IS good you brought this up casdegere, and I am a BAD DM for not telling you about this earlier, it should have occurred to me ! The rest of the group already knows about it but you and solardawn/serinda the elf are the two group "newbies" and I forgot to tell you both about this, my bad ! ( I sent solardawn a PM advising him to read this thread ) ... if this helps any.. far as I'm concerned fighting the good fight against the overwhelming forces of the dragonarmies is a heroic, "Good" aligned thing in and by itself so that goes a long way ....

Other thing too (now poor casdegere is probably going to think I'm picking on him ) ... Personally I always take what's posted on a forum with a grain of salt.... someone can say something that could be taken offensively and the person posting it had no idea they were saying something that annoyed another player ! Or to put it another way it's VERY easy to mis-read forum posts... I had one player in another group who was infamous for mis-interpreting forum posts, posting an angry reply with all sorts of unfair accusations and then threatening to leave the group... she displayed 5 year old behavior basically (actually she's the primary reason I left that group ) ... I get the feeling we're all more mature here and able to talk this stuff out without anyone leaving the group in a huff ... Having said that... casdegere DID warn us in another thread that he can be rather blunt and has been known to offend people accidentally without even realizing it .. he also said that if he does that to please let him know right away , rather than talking with him about something that could be potentially uncomfortable people tend to shy away from him afterwards (says casdegere), which (says casdegere) is the last thing he wants... Having said THAT .. if I was to post something like this : Yes, Singing, Shock and awe etc. are what a Bard's supposed to do but not as a main target, in the background. You might be good at using that whip but your going to get hurt alot in the process...me thinks you have gotten hurt alot? You also take up front line fighting space which could be left to one of the fighters in the group. No worries, you'll get the hint as times goes on! I can see how casdegere would have meant for it to be helpful advice - constructive criticism basically - and nothing more than that but I can also see how it might be potentially irritating to another player.. if it was me personally I'd say something like " in my humble opinion the bard should be behind the front-line fighters singing and using awe-inspiring effects so he doesn't get hurt too badly, leaving the front line spaces open for fighter-types who can take the punishment... just my two cents, don't take it the wrong way " ... then again hindsight is twenty/twenty, though I strive not to post something that's taken the wrong way I'm sure I've done it myself before in my role as a DM here on the forum ... ANYONE is easily, EASILY capable of posting something that could be taken the wrong way ... A healthy discussion about in-combat tactics is a good thing ... but I'd personally try to phrase it more as a suggestion than what could be seen as a "firm statement" ..... and again bear in mind Casdegere DID warn us all that he can be rather blunt a while ago ! Again remember the taking it with a grain of salt thing here folks.. not only with casdegere's posts but with ANYONE'S posts...

Online communications always suffer from a lack of inflection. Even using skype, you still lack the information you normally get from facial expressions and body stance. Ontop of that it's important to remember that misunderstandings happen even face to face, so it's understandable it happens in online communications even more often.
On the other hand, I do think it goes two ways, while I do think it's a good idea for people to look over their posts and see if it could be taken the wrong way, I also think people should assume other people aren't out to be rude or hurtful to them. Back when i was a forum administrator of a reasonable large forum, I saw both happen plenty, sometimes people post stuff in a objectionable manner, but it also happens that people are just too touchy.
In general if both sides keep a level head and keep their emotions in check, things turn out fine.
Gotta remember people on a forum are your friends, just out to have a friendly discussion, not enemies, or even strangers.
