Solardawn (who runs Serinda in dragonlance) asked me this and I realized the last time I brought this up was waaaayyyy back and I should bring it up again for the new players who are unfamiliar with the world of Krynn.. so "reprinting" this now Thanks for asking me about this I should have told you ! ... basically even the good guy metallic dragons were last seen over 1200 years ago ... though the history books talk about them up until very recently pretty much any elf would have regarded dragons as a children's fairy tale, a myth .... obviously being teleported right under the nose of a black dragon would immediately clue Serinda in to the fact that dragons are in fact real .... but basically Onyx (the black dragon you fought in the ruins of Xak Tsaroth to retrieve the disks of mishakal) is the first dragon of any sort any of the PC's have ever laid eyes on .. the average person would have simply assumed dragons were myths though it's up to each individual player whether or not their PC's believed in such "fairy tales" as being real prior to the campaign starting ...

All except for Rin as he made the Bardic Knowledge roll. So that kinda sets it in stone that he knew they were real all along.

Uhm... Add Za'era to this list of persons believing in dragons as one of Takhisis' forms is a dragon and she was taught that they are in fact real and no fairy tales.

Sangrias still doesn't believe in dragons. Even though he landed the killing blow on Onyx. It coulda been an illusion... maybe... Shee- I dunno.

We need to have a dragon melt Sangrias like Onyx did Eolear. I mean Eolaer believed in dragons with out question right after that.

I "guess" Azcot believes in them...you know considering he is half dragon and all.

DOH ! That's right Rin was aware of 'em from wayyy back and Za'era would have always believed in them given the five headed dragon is indeed one of Tiamat's aspects ... and Za'era knows Tiamat quite well having been raised to be one of Her priestesses before turning her back on the Dark Queen and leaving Drow society.. As far as Azcot, up to casdegere whether or not his uncle filled him in on the story of where he found Azcot back before Azcot was a gladiator and so forth ... So yep, if you have a conversation about dragons at this point in the campaign Sangrias is still a skeptic, Za'era definitely believes in them, I get the feeling Azcot definitely believes in them and Rin being quite the clever one with his bardic knowledge roll deduced from what he's read and heard in the past that dragons are in fact real ... even before he met one.
