Otik , Tika and Rin

" So.. what's your story?"

Otik's tone was friendly as he looked at the kenku over the rim of the glass he was polishing... but he still couldn't hide the curiosity in his face.

" Yeah, I wanna' know too " ... Tika gave Rin a friendly slap on his rump as she walked by with a tray of mugs.. " Ohhh, feathers ! " She yanked one right out from his posterior ignoring his howl of protest.. " And I KNOW you're not going to do a damn thing about it because you like me ! " The sixteen year old put an extra sway to her step, rocking her hips back and forth as she continued across the tavern room...

Otik rolled his eyes.. " If you get pregnant I'm not taking care of the babies ! I'm not ready to be a grandfather yet "... " Hey just because I'm showing off the goods doesn't mean I'm ready to put out Otik" retorted Tika as she wiped down a table.. " Kids" sighed Otik... still he gave her a fond look... " I found her trying to steal from me years ago... poor thing had no parents... so I took her in.... now she earns her keep here at the bar, just like me... maybe I'll be able to marry her off to a nobleman some day, get her out of my hair"

" HA ! That'll be the day ! " Tika shouted back from the far side of the Inn.

" You know it was a fortunate day when we met you Rin... you walked in the door and I STARED at you the first time we'd met.. never seen a walking bird before.. and then you auditioned, did your act.. we've been packing them in ever since ! " Otik slid a mug of ale to Rin.. free of charge as always... " I know you're a friendly sort , and beneath that comic genius you're a good man.. but we know nothing about you... where's you grow up? Where's your family? Are there more like you? What led you to become a performer?

" We hear all sorts of stories from you Rin... except your own.. what's your story?"

Tika cocks her head to one side, curiousity on her face as she regards the kenku.

(DM's note ... Reika would be the only other PC present for this particular thread and even then only if Mikker0 want her there... Eolaer and Nine haven't met Rin yet, this happens two years prior to the start of the campaign in the events described in our first FG game session .. Adam has not yet moved to Solace after saving the girl from the burning tree.... and Za'era has yet to make her appearance to the others ) ...

"My story huh?" Rin chuckles. "Well I guess there's no harm in telling you. Let's see where to begin?" Rin scratches the underside of his beak for a moment. "Hmm... Well I was born In the mountains near Sanction. I lived there wiht my mother and father for about two years. Until of course my father was killed in a rockslide. After that my mother was told she would have to leave the clan until I was able to be a productive member of our clan."

Rin stares at Tika's ass for a moment before shaking his head. "Umm... Anyway.... What happend next kinda led into my wanting to be a performer. We were headed to Lancton. We came across a traveling group of performers." Taking a swig of the ale Rin trys to hide the fact that he was again staring at Tika's ass. "Ahh... Good ale. So being that kenku like to travel in groups my mother decided to go wiht them. They were headed to Sanction to try and get some of there members in the bardic college there. Their plan b was to go to Lancton. Well needless to say they used plan b."

"When we got there I was about 3 or 4. I wanted to travel with the group a bit more so that maybe I could get into Lancton's college. I had to wait till i was 5 to travel but still. That worked out well mind you. So I suppose you could say I grew up on the road being a comdian. Oh yes and there are others like me lots according to my mother."

Rin pinches Tika's ass as she moves by him and quickly states. "Hey you plucked a feather I get to feel you up, It's tradition."

Tika moves with practiced ease, bashing Rin on top of the head with her now empty tray after he pinches her butt "Tradition my ASS " .. then rubs the bump she made on his feathered forehead and kisses it.. " Poor thing.. I'm sorry you lost your father" she murmurs.. and moves off again, swaying her hips just as much as ever and clearly enjoying teasing Rin.

" My condolences" murmurs Otik as well .... " So, you're a bard?" Otik asks with interest... " Is that how you met that beautiful brown haired young woman I saw you with earlier? I'll be brutally honest my friend... if you can get her to come in often she'll be good for business! And I'll make sure the patrons keep their hands off her and leave her alone.. her mere presence will be enough to bring in customers though " he adds cheerfully... Rin knows Otik is referring to Reika. Moving in closer to Rin Otik murmurs low enough so that Tika can't hear:

" Regarding Tika.. I see her as a daughter my friend... she knows she's attractive, and she's exploring it as all 16 year olds do but.. well she hasn't " Otik blushes furiously then continues " She hasn't .... been.. with a man... and between you and me I think we both know you're not the kind of person who would settle down with just one woman.. nothing wrong with that but if you slept with her then "moved on" so to speak it would.. hurt.. her... I don't know what will develop between you and her in the future .. but you'll keep that in mind won't you?" Otik's pleading gaze makes it apparent this isn't an angry father (albeit a father who adopted Tika) warning a potential suitor away.. but rather one man begging another not to hurt his daughter...

Rin gives Otik a slight smirk and whispers back to him. "Don't worry about it, If I do ever decide to pursue that course I'll make sure I won't hurt her."

Leaning back Rin smiles. "Oh you mean Reika. I met her when I was seven. She still looks as beautiful now as she did then. Don't tell her I said that."

He stares up at the ceiling. "I saved her from a noble, and told her a secret. I don't think she understood it then or even now....."

His gaze fixes on Tika again. "You know Otik, you could just let Tika shake like that just outside the door. Wouldn't need me if you kept both Reika and Tika here... Anyway yes I'm a bard, went to college for it and everything."

Rin chuckles a bit. "Funny thing they told me that I would entertain nobles. I would not like that as much as this."

" Tika is beautiful no doubt about it but this Reika of yours.. by the heavens above I've never seen the like.. it's not POSSIBLE to be human and to be that gorgeous" Otik says fervently.. " Please, make sure she comes here as often as possible.. free food and drink and lodging far as I'm concerned !

" So you like us more than living the life of luxury working for a bard eh? " Otik gets a big smile on his face and claps the kenku on his back.. " We like you too.. Rin the bird man"...

" Who says I like him ? " Tika calls out from another corner of the bar.. she sticks her tongue out at Rin and continues cleaning.

" So a noble was giving this Reika of yours trouble? Is that why you don't like nobles?" Otik asks curiously.

"No I've never liked them. I suppose it's what noble means compared to how they act."

Rin smiles at Tika.

"Oh then why grab my feathers? We kenku only give feathers to those we feel a certain connection too. Thats why I didn't complain all that much."

Chuckling Rin looks back to Otik. "As for meliking here more. Yes I do, I spent a few years living in a tavern so it feels like home. You two just make it feel more so."

" Ahhh you're sweet " Tika takes the feather she stole from Rin and tickles his nose with it...

" So.. tell me about your mom?" she asks curiously

"Well she's like me. Actually she owns an inn in Lancton now."

Rin shivers a little. "Also one of the performers that we traveled wiht stayed wiht her... They are close."

"But why did you want to know about her? Wanting to meet her to see if she'll give you a blessing for something?" Rin smirks slyly.

[Andre]

" Owns an inn of her own eh? We can talk shop" Otik responds heartily.. then he gives Rin a look... " Oh dear, are you planning on proposing?"

Tika picks up on the suggestion instantly.. " I"m not marrying anyone with feathers for brains" she retorts. Then she stretches and yawns.. " I'm going to bed.. again , sorry about your dad" she adds softly to Rin ...

" Me too, we're just about done here" Otik says.. " Rin feel free to stay down here have a few ales if you want or retire to your room , up to you"

With a friendly squeeze to the kenku's soldier and an anxious whisper " If the two of you do anything PLEASE use protection .. no babies yet ! " into Rin's ear hole Otik retires to bed as well..

(Great RP'ing as always dark alloy .. 50 xp, 40 RP .. the main purpose of this thread is to flesh out your relationship with your employer, Otik and his adopted daughter, Tika.. you see more of them later on in the campaign )
