To make a long story short... spellcasters now have the option of "temporarily" enchanting a magic weapon or armor at a greatly reduced cost in both steel (gold) pieces and duration of use of said weapon.. xp cost is paid based on the reduced cost in gp ...
Basically cut the gp cost for any and all magic weapons or armor you could create by 90 percent... BUT the weapon created has the enchantment for one fight ONLY , upon the end of that fight (or 20 rounds, whichever comes first ) the enchantment winks out, permanently vanishing, leaving only a masterwork weapon or suit or armor... the weapon or armor can be re-enchanted again if you like with the same or a different "temporary charge" ...

UPDATE - this option can now be applied to magic rings and wonderous items that don't have a set number of charges in them to begin with.
Calculate time to create based on the new gp/xp cost (with the 90 percent discount basically) when factoring how long it takes to create said item.
