Adam quietly listens to all opinions. When all have had their say, Adam finally speaks again. "Reika, you might be surprised to hear that I agree with you.
Let's look at what we think we know -
1) a great army is reportedly coming to overwhelm Solace. The townsfolk will be at the mercy of an apparently evil army.
2) Few, if any, know this - including the seekers.
3) We must act as if the seekers are our enemies, as they work with our enemies.
4) Fewmaster Toede is a known face to our foes.
With these points in mind, here is what I recommend:
- Let Toede go. He must currently flee his own allies for failure. If he wishes to risk reporting a group of vigilantes to the seekers, so be it. It will distract them.
- Beat Toede back to Solace and advise Otik to create an 'escape network' to get the helpless to shelter before the army attacks. This would be his quest, not ours.
- We must leave Solace before this 'dragon' Verminaard arrives.
"Adam then continues telepathically to each member in turn: We have one crucial piece of information - this 'blue crystal staff'. Verminaard wants it, which means we want it first. We may not be able to turn the tide of battle alone, but with this staff, we may unlock a weakness of this army.
I will be leaving on a quest for the staff posthaste (after Solace). You are all free to join me or leave. I will find that staff before Verminaard. The safety of Solace may depend upon it.
I would ask at least your help in finding the location of this staff, if you decide to go a different path, however.
And we must do this without alerting Toede, the Seekers or the minions of the 'dragon', Verminaard. What say you all?

Rin looks as if he is thinking hard about what Adam said really he's just thinking hoping that Adam is paying attention to his thoughts. "I keep hearing voices in my head, and they sound a lot like you Adam. Anyway I think it would be a good Idea to get the staff.... Hmm you know I think your the only one who can hear me now. Still it would make for a great story to give to the bardic college. Count me in."

(yep no staff lead  but here's what Toede had to say about pax tharkas earlier in the thread

Nine pulls out both scimitars and a cold evil look comes over his face as he turns to head off.
As he's walking away he begins laughing loudly and turns arouns smiling.
"I hope I had you guys fooled momentarilly!"
He walks over to Adamn and whispers to him while having adam rely this to the companions telepathocly*.
" Im just kidding my friends, my death wish for this army may be great but im no fool. I will need all of you by side, that is without question. Finding this staff does sound like priority number one and I agree whole heartedly. We must find it first! What I dont agree with is letting him go. He may come in handy later. "

Rin does fall over as he starts to laugh. "I... I was gonna ask what you planed to do. Let your dog there give them some grass."
Still on the ground he lies back and stares at the sky. "Yeah and while they were laughing at nothing you'd kill them all. Right before the smoke got to you and you were sitting there with them going. "' I was gonna kill you, but... ehhh fuck it. I'm not gonna."' That would be the best battle plan ever."
