This is a copy and paste of info sent to another player re: their PC, making it available for all to see and comment on
See pages 97-98 Complete Adventurer official WOTC sourcebook craft skill listed in there, goes into detail on the craft (poison) skill you would need .. note that you need to go out and find the actual source of the poison too - for dragon bile poison for example you need access to a dragon (actual dragon not dragonspawn half dragon et cet ) .. there are several poisons in there I'd rule can be found in the wilderness as you travel through wilderness areas... arsenic, black lotus extract, bloodroot, blue whinnis, maylss root paste, nitharit, oil of taggit, sassone leaf residue, striped toadstool ...

And to help further see this link which I will make an official house rule as well (except the wierd crap about converting gp to sp , ignore that)

Not going to make you take knowledge (wilderness) or any crap like that to find the plant type stuff mentioned in the link above that can make poison just assume craft (poisonmaking) covers it - you tell me what you're looking for, I have you make a craft (poison) skill check to see if you find it , then you make another check to create the poison per the rules in complete adventurer...
