The description of the restoration spell says :
www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/restoration.htm
Restoration
Conjuration (Healing)
Level: Clr 4, Pal 4
Components: V, S, M
This spell functions like lesser restoration, except that it also dispels negative levels and restores one experience level to a creature who has had a level drained. The drained level is restored only if the time since the creature lost the level is equal to or less than one day per caster level. A character who has a level restored by restoration has exactly the minimum number of experience points necessary to restore him or her to his or her previous level.
Restoration cures all temporary ability damage, and it restores all points permanently drained from a single ability score (your choice if more than one is drained). It also eliminates any fatigue or exhaustion suffered by the target.
Restoration does not restore levels or Constitution points lost due to death.
Material Component
Diamond dust worth 100 gp that is sprinkled over the target.
Note the words in bold blue letters above.. I'm going to amend that ... a restoration spell cast on you will negate any and all XP points lost ENTIRELY - it's as if you never suffered from the level drain to begin with.
This will require PC's to keep careful track of your xp (though it works to your advantage too so I don't see that much to complain about ) .. basically if you're a victim of energy/level drain, don't permanently knock down your XP points (despite what the "official" rules say) until you have a chance to see if an NPC cleric can help you out... note also that the cleric has to be at least 7th level to cast a 4th level spell to begin with - per the spell description that gives you up to a week (7 days) to get to a cleric should you fail the fortitude save that determines whether or not the level loss is permanent to begin with.
Also note that Rin is carrying around a bunch of diamonds with him so the diamond dust material component shouldn't be too much of a problem (with his appraise and knowledge arcana skills and with Serinda's force-type spells such as magic missle I'm going to assume between the two of them they can pry 100 gp worth of diamond dust loose from at least one of the diamonds Rin is carrying ) ...
