This FG game session begins on day 17 of Autumn Dark ("November" to use real earth terms) in the year 351 AC - this FG game session ends around perhaps 11am in the morning " game time", still day 17 ...
Things start out in the morning of day 17 - thanks to the magical horses Serinda summons the heroes make quick time (3 hour journey) to Skullcap from where they're at right now.. the heroes (minus Udyr who scouted ahead) encounter dwarven ghosts from the dwarfgate war (see below) and Rin claws then heals himself to prove to them that the gods have returned and that the heroes are on an important quest - the ghosts vanish without comment instead of continuing to insist that the heroes leave their haunting place...
The heroes then enter the lair of the famous Black Robed wizard whom, history says, died as the result of a magical explosion he accidentally triggered during the dwargate wars over 300 years ago (when the hill and mountain dwarves fought and killed each other - the above mentioned explosion wiped out so many hill and mountain dwarves alike it instantly brought the war to an end)... the heroes are in pursuit of some sort of relic within skullcap which, according to the hill dwarves they encountered earlier (the same hill dwarf leader with poo in his beard thanks to Draug ) will lead them to the hidden mountain home of the mountain dwarves.. hopefully the heroes will then be able to appeal to the king of the mountain dwarves to let the hundreds of human refugees the heroes rescued from the dragonarmies to take refuge in their mountain.. currently the refugees are in a valley warmer than normal with plenty of food and game - but it will be little protection against the dragonarmies that are in pursuit of their lost captives.. a hidden mountain city would be a far better hiding spot...
The heroes find that skullcap has melted from the magical fortress it once was into a large "building" that , sure enough , resembles a skull.. the heroes enter through the eye holes of the "skull" finding, curiously enough, the inside of the fortress to be in good condition despite the magical explosion centuries ago.. what's more all the doors are locked ! Draug puts his lockpicking skills to good use , Rin does the same with his magic.
The heroes encounter Blaize an incredibly talkative (and annoying) brass dragon who has been held in magical stasis within skullcap the past 300 years ... Blaize returns to the dragon isles to find out why the metallic dragons (gold, silver, brass copper et cetera) have not entered the war to fight against their evil chromatic counterparts in the dragonarmies... Serinda claims a scale from Blaize first in order to be able to contact him later on - and, against Udyr's will (whom Blaize seems to delight in tormenting) , Blaize takes some of Udyr's beard-hair so Blaize can find UDYR later on, presumably to verbally torment the irate druid some more.. Rin also gives Blaize a "gift" that will help Blaize to locate Rin in the future and , generously, Rin gives Blaize some of their treasure (a tapestry ) so Blaize can get his dragon's treasure horde up and running again, with the understanding that Blaize will come back later on so Rin can interview Blaize for the records of Rin's bardic college... Blaize has a nice chat with Draug about the ancient folk-hero of Draug's wild elf adopted kin, Darlatan the silver dragon . And Blaize promises Zane that he'll try to find Zane's father the gold dragon (Blaize recognizes Zane as a gold half-dragon) and convey Zane's message.. that Zane misses his father...
The heroes then fight and destroy wights , but not before the wights suck away a piece of both Zane and Udyr's soul (in game terms both PC's are now suffering from one class level loss due to energy drain). The heroes then encounter Whisper, a gigantic very old shadow dragon - rather than immediately attacking the heroes however the shadow dragon seems to "recognize" Serinda and keeps referring to her as "mistress", insinuating that she will be protected from his wrath since she is, according to the dragon, sleeping with Fistaldanius..
