Okay look.... as a dm i understand the pain in the ass of running and knowing every feat ever. I think Andre given the situation does one hell of a job.
However, Cas: you put way to much stock into going by-the-book with the rules. I am a firm believer in story-trumps-rules. If it makes for an awesome RP moment or a cool plot hook, rules be dammed. Is the stuff that za'era can do powerful? Yes. Is it a bend of the rules? Yes. BUT she doesn't abuse it. You really do seem to focus to much on rules and not enough on the overall RP'ing. Let the rules go a little.
Madelaine, relax hon. It's only a game. Relax. I understand it sucks but it's no need to freak. No one (that i am aware of) had some evil plot to gimp you in mind.
Everyone just RELAX, have fun, Rp, kill some shit, and let andre do his daunting job.
Once again andre, you're doing great.

For what it's worth I will offer an apology to Madelaine here... telling players they are throwing "tantrums" is rather harsh .... while I've made it pretty clear that my point of view is that players need to not take what's going on in-game seriously enough to the point where the player gets bent out of shape, I can see how after getting clearance from me (again placing the blame for the misunderstanding on my shoulders to begin with) Madelaline would be rather upset... but again, it's not so much the rest of the players wanting to "cut her down" for "daring to attack a PC" and more so this ... none of the effects PC's have used on each other during PC to PC conflicts (such as Rin's suggestion for example) are permanent, which was what Madelaine originally said... quote from FG log " I make it PERMANENT " ... when she used the hold person spell.. while I can see why she would think everyone started jumping on her at that point.. really, it was more of a reaction to the effect of " hold person being permanent on a creature? That doesn't sound right at all ! " ... Generally speaking when you make a statement like that which isn't found in the rules at all that tends to be the typical reaction from players .. " Wait a minute that isn't right ! " followed up by checking rules.. it's happened to me before running my characters in other campaigns, where I thought I could do something and it turned out it couldn't ( I thought my rogue could bluff as a free action with her improved feint and attack multiple times in a round with sneak attack damage - turns out she only gets the one attack and other players were quick to point that out .. ) ... and I'm sure if you ask all the other players too it's happened to them as well at one point or another (being corrected by other players mid-combat). So again, please don't take this so personally.
Yes Rin's suggestion/bluff/diplomacy abilities are very powerful, yes Azcot is quite potent when he starts grappling people ... but neither of them can create permanent spell-like effects on a PC ... even in Rin's case the most he can make a suggestion spell last right now is about 6 hours - he'd have to be a 24th level bard to make it last 24 hours.
It's PERFECTLY ok for Za'era to start kicking other PC's butts if they piss her off enough... again however I cannot recommend strongly enough that it be for non-lethal damage as opposed to killing off another PC , which will almost always create ill will between players no matter how appropriate one might think it is to kill another player's PC off from the role playing point of view.. again when the PC's have beaten on each other in the past it's always been non-lethal damage. I'm more than happy to give Za'era a free feat altering lethal into non-lethal damage when she casts spells since Za'era's patron is the goddess of healing ...
